A Hampton Roads coalition of environmental education committees: HR WET, HR CLEAN, HR STORM, and HR FOG. The groups are coordinated through the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission (HRPDC) and are staffed by members of local government organizations: Chesapeake, Franklin, Gloucester, Hampton, Isle of Wight, James City County, Newport News, Norfolk, Poquoson, Portsmouth, South Hampton, Suffolk, Surry, Virginia Beach, Williamsburg, and York County.
HR CLEAN (www.hrclean.org) encourages beautification, recycling, and litter prevention.
HR FOG is a newly formed committee working to reduce the amount of fat, oil, and grease that clog the regions sanitary sewer lines.
HR STORM (www.hrstorm.org) works to reduce pollution of area waterways by reducing stormwater runoff and the pollutants it contains.
HR WET (www.hrwet.org) promotes water conservation.
