Darren Higgs grew up in a small rural community on the west coast of Canada. Following graduation from the University of Victoria in 2006 at the age of 23 with a BA degree (major Geography and minor Psychology) he re-located to Albuquerque, New Mexico to be with his wife Erin and undertake a program of studies at the Central New Mexico Community College. This will lead to a certificate in Geographic Information Technology (GIT) in December 2009. Darren is keenly interested in GIT and hopes to pursue a career in this important field. Throughout his life Darren has not only achieved academic excellence but he has also accepted a diverse array of challenges through his various job experiences. Indeed, he has learned the value of hardwork, setting and achieving goals in a timely manner, being flexible, and the importance of multitasking and teamwork. He also takes care to understand the expectations of his employer and likes undertaking new challenges. In addition to the foregoing attributes, Darren enjoys sports, especially hockey and baseball, as well as recreational activities such as golf and sailing. He believes that the keys to an enjoyable life are not only being passionate about ones chosen career but also he places strong emphasis on his marriage, family, laughter and maintaining a positive attitude in good and difficult times.
