Look at global warming- when I was at school CO2 was a harmless nutrient that made Earth green and pollution was causing global cooling . Now CO2 is taught as a ‘dirty pollutant’ that destroys the environment!

& I've certainly made the same mistake- but the rule of thumb with 'whom' is don't use it unless you are sure(or want to sound like a pompous ass!)
