About GungFu4Life's channel
Thank you for stopping by. I established this channel to share my knowledge with the martial arts and self-defense community. I will be posting videos of tips and methods relating to Wing Chun Kuen and Self-Defense. I have enjoyed formal learning of and teaching martial arts since 1973. I have been fortunate to have training from several prominent teachers.
Lineage: The bulk of my training and certification in Wing Chun is from my teacher and mentor Sifu Carl (Andy) Peck. My WC lineage descends both from Yip Man and Jiu Wan. My Sigung on the Jiu Wan side is Francis Fong (direct disciple of Jiu Wan). On the Yip Man side my Sigung is Joseph Cowles, trained for several years and authorized to teach by Bruce Lee (Lee Jun Fan). Bruce Lee was taught Wing Chun by Grand Master Yip Man. Jiu Wan and Yip Man were contemporaries and both taught by Chan Wah Shun and his son, Chan Yu Min. Yip Man trained later under Leung Bik, son of Dr. Leung Jan.

I am a Wing Chun instructor. I have been in martial arts since I was a child. My father learned Judo with the Navy in Japan and taught me when I was growing up. I got into Tae Kwon Do in my teens (1973) and and learned both ITF and WTF systems. I was promoted to Black Belt rank in 1981. I left Tae Kwon Do to learn Wing Chun Kuen Gung-Fu in 1982. I Was first promoted to Sifu certification in 1990 and have continued to teach and develop my understanding and ability since then.I had two Wing Chun schools in the 90's while living in San Francisco. My involvement in Wing Chun has lead me to study other Chinese systems including Chin Na (qinna) and Tai Chi (taiji) Chuan. I also practice Chi Gung (qigong) for health and chi quality.
I've also developed an extremely effective non classical self-defense system called PRADEF (short for Practical Defense) That utilizes many strategies from my accumulated experience.
I now reside about 30 miles North of Dallas in Denton, Texas and offer group and private training at CROSSFIT NTX Gym here in Denton and in Carrollton at A.F.T. Training Center.
