Just fyi, when I was a child the Revolutionary War was commonly called (& taught in school) the American War for Independence. There's a connotation of thought that goes with the verbage. Revolution denotes a revolt against a legitimate government. We declared independence from an illegitimate govt. Revolution denotes we fired the first shot, when our history shows we did everything in our power to keep the peace & maintain legitimate govt. See Declaration & Resolves of the First Continental Congress, 1774. Also see The Causes & Necessity of Taking Up Arms, 1775. Since you're a history buff, you probably already know this, but I think the name change is interesting, & it's important for all Americans to know this. Peace!
