The council seemed destined to ignore the publics wish to reopen the railway and therefore rebuilding an important link in the rail network. Instead a group of self inflated council fools pushed through a substandard idea purely so they could claim that "they" had a guided busway. One word for those at the top. IDIOTS.
A very ingenious idea - and a remarkable achievement by the council!
They have managed to create something that embodies all the disadvantages of rail - plus the disadvantages of an ordinary bus, while the cost looks to be 3x restoring what was a prefectly good railway until they ripped it up.
Complete waste of money. Should have just reopened the railway line at a fraction of the cost!
How much freight capacity can a bus take? How many lorry jourenys will be reduced by running a bus on concrete rails? What's the point of having a driver on a guided bus? Absolete nonsense!
One of the council's guided bus people told me the rails across Milton Road would be lifted August and it's now October and they're sill there. If only their phone number wasn't engaged constantly I'd ask them why.
Guided Busway .................its a unique and fantastic construction work which is an excellant mixture of perfect enginnering, technology and hardwork.Above all there is unique team working very hard and as a family that consists not only European members but also from INDIA(PUNJAB),ASIA AND AFRICA means everyone working there feels to be proud of working for this project.

How do they come up with schemes like this?
How much freight capacity can a bus take? How many lorry jourenys will be reduced by running a bus on concrete rails? What's the point of having a driver on a guided bus? Absolete nonsense!
Will your buses be able to reach 100km/h on your busway?
