Just to let subscribers and friends know, I'm currently (and very happily) in the midst of recording my first proper album/CD of instrumental guitar (and a few other things). This past Thursday, Groundhog Day.. I finished guitar tracks for 7 out of about 10 possible songs. This CD will hopefully show a variety of what I've done for the last 10 or more years of my guitar playing life. :) This is getting to be very exciting and I can't wait to share this everyone.

Hello, my name is Vikki Blankenship. I am an instrumental guitarist from Abingdon, VA. I write original songs ranging from acoustic finger style, electric blues, jazz rock, as well as some over-handed playing. I also enjoy playing and singing 60's/70's rock songs. I uploaded my first video here on June 19, 2010. Until I get more video up, please swing by my Facebook 'band' page or my ReverbNation site for a listen to some of my acoustic finger style music. (I recently cancelled my Myspace site due to viruses).

My influences come from the world of rock. Esp, that of Heart and Nancy Wilson (Hence, my 'fav' vids, or music rather). Tho, there are many, many more. I began on the piano at age 7 and moved over to guitar at age 12. Tho, I have a classical background, I incorporate many different styles and genres into my original work. I plan to include some electric (clean strat) later on as I do more recording, etc.

I welcome your insight and constructive criticism. Tho, please bare with video quality until I get a better camera. :o Thanks!
