About Me:

Where to start? I'm an untypical teenager. That much is certain. My school friends tell me that I'm an 80-year-old lady in a teenage body, but it's not like its an insult. I just think more like an adult than people my age. I've written a few stories on FanFiction, but I'm far from a full-fledged writer. (Actually, I'm just okay at it.) I'm working on it, though.

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon) and I LOVE IT! It's the best thing going in my life and I'm ever so grateful for it. If you've ever got any questions about the Church for me, feel free to ask me, and I'll answer you the best I can. It's something I love to do.

Just for those of you who aren't LDS, here's a little bit about what it's like being Mormon. I go to church most every Sunday and I'm there for the whole three hours (really guys, it's not that bad). I'm the President of the Laurel class, and I'm kind of over MiaMaids and Beehives to some extent, since we're so few in number. I love my calling! I love serving and helping others who need it, though since I can be shy, sometimes I need a push to get moving. I sing in the youth choir and love it too. I'm an alto, because goodness knows, I can't go as high as the sopranos can! I love seminary too. :) Sure, it's early in the morning and I have to bike there but it's so totally worth it. It's the best way to put on the full armor of God before having to go out into the world.

My likes are definitely not common. I am an old fashioned person by nature, so you should expect no less. My likes rest in many years past. I absolutely love music. I listen to most everything, except for rap, heavy metal, etc, and I usually don't listen to country, but there are a few exceptions. I love the oldies. Glenn Miller, Beach Boys, Roy Orbison, Elvis, Perry Como, Bing Crosby I love them all! On the other end of the spectrum, I like Five for Fighting, Journey (70s not quite that recent I suppose), John Meyer, and many others. There are too many to list. I think it's great that my taste in music goes from the 30's all the way to today. That's practically 80 years! My favorite actor is DeForest Kelley and his first public movie was Fear in the Night (1947). I'm telling you, I'm not normal.

Listening is fun, but I like playing music too. I played clarinet for six years in school, I can kind of play piano, I just learned how to play the ukulele, and I'm planning on learning how to play the guitar. I'm so excited!

As far as friends go, I've got a high standard for those who want to even come close to getting to know me. (That sounds a bit intimidating doesn't it? It sounds worse than it actually is.) I don't trust easily, and so it can be a challenge for a person to get to know the real me, but it is possible. Deception is something that I don't tolerate, and loyalty is a must. Who wants to be friends with someone who's only there for you when it's convenient? My true friends are not as "the summer soldier" or "the sunshine patriot" who shrink in the face of the Adversary. They stand for what's right and what they know to be true, no matter who opposes them, and I admire them for what they do and I try to follow their righteous examples.

I think that's all I've got for now. Hopefully I'll write more in the near future.
Hometown:
I'm proud to say I'm exactly where I'm meant to be.
Country:
United States
Occupation:
Every member a missionary. :)
Schools:
As of right now, I'm a senior in high school. I'm planning on eventually transferring to BYU-Provo (I'm so Mormon) and I'll be going into psychology for sure. I really like talking with young people, so I'm planning on becoming a school psychologist or counselor of some sort. I don't have it perfectly figured out, but I know I'm excited for the future.
Interests:
Reading, writing, psychology, sleeping, talking about religion with people who like to DISCUSS religion and not ARGUE it, helping people and listening to them talk about things that are bothering them, listening to nice and uplifting music
Movies:
The Undiscovered Country, The Last Crusade, The Raiders of the Lost Ark, Phantom of the Opera, Spiderman, Spiderman 2, Night at the Museum, The Phantom Menace, The Clone Wars, Revenge of the Sith, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Airplane, Batman Begins Star Trek The Original Series, House, Columbo, Tom and Jerry, Batman, America's Funniest Home Videos, M*A*S*H, Spiderman ('67), Spiderman ('94)
Music:
To be general, I love the oldies, soft rock, peaceful and soothing instrumentals, and I love those songs that can wind their way deep into one's soul and bring comfort in times when the world seems to be falling apart.
Books:
Bible, Book of Mormon (because it's AWESOME, but more because it's true), Paths of Fate (not yet published), Eragon, Eldest, ... I'm hoping this list will grow.

Yeah, I decided I'm going on a mission. I have been planning to for awhile now. Ha, and I guess I shouldn't be looking for anyone to marry before then... They wouldn't be available when I returned XD The only problem my high school graduation and age work out in such a way that I'll have a year after my final day of high school before I go on my mission. No idea what I'm going to do..... a year of college? a job? both? No idea!
