About Me:
When I was a Sophomore at Waterford Kettering High School, my band/music teacher Mr. Randal Scott Adkins installed at the time, a brand new music software program called "GarageBand:" I instantly fell in love with it. GarageBand came with over 2,000 loops of pre-recorded riffs, hooks, sound effects, drum beats, and everything else. For about 2 years, the way I would write my songs was to use the loops that GarageBand used. By late 2007 however, I decided to take it a step further--create my OWN sounds and write my OWN parts (not using loops). From there on, my use of loops diminished and I started recording some stuff that I never would have attempted to record years earlier--music with synthesizers all over the place.
That is my signature sound. I'll probably stick with it for awhile and then experiment with something else--because that's what musicians do--they take risks and change their sound to either fit with the times, or just to experiment. That's why I admire bands like Rush, Queen, Jethro Tull, etc. They had the balls to experiment/change their sound up every couple of albums and in some cases it was successful--and in some cases it wasn't as well-received. I see that as a natural growth of the artist. I do like albums like Queen's Hot Space, Jethro Tull's Under Wraps, and Rush's Synthesizer period (1984-1988). A lot of their hardcore fans hated it--but I didn't: I just thought, "They are experimenting. Leave them alone--that's what great bands do: EXPERIMENT!"
I accept comments on all videos regardless of if it's positive or negative. There's always stuff I need to work on and improve. If you have advice, criticism, pointers, etc please post it. I won't get mad and will reply back the best I can.
Have a nice day!
