About Me:
I also conceived, storyboarded and developed the Orca scene for HappyFeet, working with Dr George Miller.
Years earlier with my 2 partners Chris Chitty & Matt Ward, & working alongside my sculptor colleague John Cox's company, my robotics company Robotechnology designed and built half the animatronic talking animals for the movie "Babe".
The film won the VFX Oscar that year. Thank you academy!
Studying zoology at Uni as well as Industrial design engineering was not such an innapropriate combination
Creating full size realistic ocean-going mechanical whales, sharks, flying birds, Keanu Reeves's or aliens & farm yard animals is all part of the job description, with a sideline in aircraft , hydrofoils and experimental sailing craft..
Nowdays an apple laptop & nice monitor & some 3D animation & compositing software get the job done nicely too.
BTW, help save the oceans! They comprise 3/4 the surface of our planet.
