Greg Contreras grew up in New Jersey and works wherever he's booked. Like any moderately obsessive, he write soaring verse about his home state, below.

"I live in Baltimore now," he says. "The thing about Baltimore is, it makes New Jersey look good."

Greg began performing after he received his Masters in Economics from Rutgers. First off-off-Broadway then in some small roles in feature films. Finally turning to comedy: "It was the steady paycheck that attracted me most," he says.

To describe the teat which gave me succor
Oh, New Jersey, gentle land, gentle home
Oh, New Jersey your arena is domed
O thine great industrial breast
Thine Turnpike, thine parkway, thine stops of Rest

Lovely New Jersey, New York's overrated.
Your plain, it's true, but you need not be comely, for the Bronx is less fair than even Nutley.
