Interests

The students involved with Teen Green have a variety of projects underway. The largest is the Khalili Building Project, where Teen Green members will construct a natural earth, environmentally sustainable building. The building would be used as a community meeting space for Teen Green and other organizations.

Other Teen Green projects include:

• Organic fruit and vegetable garden at local schools

• Annual Oak Tree Reseeding event This annual event by Teen Green involves the planting of numerous oak trees up in the Padua Hills.

• Earth to Office The students have researched practical suggestions for local businesses to make their sites and operations more environmentally sustainable. Participating businesses will be given Teen Green certificates and positive media publicity.

• Bike Friendly Cities The students are involved in a variety of events and activities designed to encourage biking as an alternative to automobiles.
