a clear air hose with just air in it CAN'T grow algae...lol..dude only knows what he's heard and is confusing this grow method with drip irrigation where the tube does have water in it.lol

i dont use the water pump or drip tubing??? use the tupperware tubs that u can fill to the top and let ur netpots sit flooded 1/2 to 3/4 up..use the air pump (which is 20x more energy efficient than a water pump and is less prone to fail) with a stone only aka rafting or wickin method..saves mon...

@9369cmack "its cheaper to just buy tomatos" ???? i got around 200 off my plants under 200w of cfls last year..the 200w cost me (2kw/dayx90days=180kwhx.10centsper =$18.00 i think tomatos at the stores r like $2-3 for 3-4 so 200t /4=50X$3=$150 worth of tomatos for $18 bucks cost of light..just re...

oh and ps..thats why u see most tomato grows in tupperware type storage totes w netpots in the lids. because the rootmass , like u said, gets to big for the small diameter pvc pipes and totes cost way less than 6" pvc pipe anyway.peace.
