As to religion...
I tend to have unusual ideas on this topic. For the most part, I could be considered a Heretic that studies Hermetics. As such, I would be friendly to a great many other beliefs out there, including Paganism, Hinduism, Buddhism, those who practice Alchemy, and a few others.
If you are Catholic or Christian or Islam, then respect to you and respect to your right to your beliefs, but we probably wouldn't agree on a great deal. The best way to deal with this is simple I think.
I'll use an example: I'm a Canadian. As a Canadian I accept the fact that an American living in America is not subject to Canadian law. Nor am I subject to US law. Please don't assume that I or anyone else would be subject to the laws of your religious beliefs, if we don't even live within those beliefs.
