When the movie was released I can remember the single being played on local radio stations. I ran right out and bought the album. The album version is an astounding piece of work.

Additionally, the song just sounded great on vintage audio gear. The slow build up in tempo and strength had the desired effect of immersing you in the music.
Really it is a generational thing, hopefully there are young people who will take up the torch and carry it forward.
