I use Garageband, which just came with my Mac and isn't necessarily "professional". If you are interested in spending a good amount of money for something great, I hear Logic Pro is AMAZING.
- Just a side note about the Mic:
It does limit what programs you can use because some programs only use an outside microphone if it is plugged into the mic jack, and this one only uses a USB port.

I use a Samson c01u, it only hooks into a USB port (not into a microphone slot). It's slightly pricey, but worth every penny. :)
