Dogs have always played a major part in my life. Since my family has always had dogs, I could not imagine life without them. Dogs have always brought much joy and love to our lives. I first didn't actually begin training them until I was eleven, when obtained my Australian Shepherd Ginger. Because I was unaware of Aussies' intense herding instincts, Ginger brought much stress to my life. In order to relieve Ginger of her never ending energy, I began researching different dog "jobs" and other ways for Ginger to exert her energy in a positive way. While pursuing ideas, I stumbled upon agility and our journey started. Throughout her first winter, I turned my family's garage into a mini agility course, where I practiced and trained Ginger. After two years of training, we entered our first NADAC trial. Since then, we've been successfully been competing in NADAC, CPE, and some USDAA and ASCA. I continue to enjoy and thank God for giving me Ginger. Even though we often have endured many frustrations while training in agility, we would have never learned what it really means to achieve our goals.
