Grace Jeanette at age 11, has already learned to be comfortable in her own skin. She has been singing and acting since she was 5 years old, and was always been a "natural" when it comes to the performing arts.
Grace sang, acted, played piano, danced, and performed at open mics with her mom, and took classes whenever she could. She wanted a professional acting/singing career, so she kept after her mom to find her an agent- but her mom didn't know how to get her into the business. As fate would have it, a local acting school allowed Grace to go to an audition with a management company that was scouting in her town, and they saw something in Grace her mom always saw. She had natural ability, and Grace was an "original". From there she got an agent and her mother moved Grace and her brother to the Los Angeles area to follow her dream.
Once in L.A., Grace started auditioning for whatever came up, and was often praised by casting directors, but was often turned down because of "her look". Being mixed race, she often fell under the "ethnically ambiguous" category, and she didn't fit into one of Hollywood's "boxes" Meanwhile, her mom put up a youtube channel to showcase her acting and singing, hoping the right people would see it. She got a few small commercials, and then her first real break came with the rock band "My Chemical Romance". Grace's agent submitted her for the role, and they watched her youtube channel, and ironically, she was finally chosen because she was unique. Lead singer Gerard Way chose her for her "cool vibe", acting ability and said he loved her singing voice. He also told her mom he chose her because of all the girls he looked at, she looked like she knew how to have fun. They wanted a cool kid that could hang with the band, and Grace had the time of her life working with MCR!
Grace has appeared in MCR's "Na Na Na" and "Sing", and the band also asked her to do a cover of their song "Na Na Na" and put it on their own youtube page and website, due to the fans overwhelming response to Grace. The MCR fans have accepted Grace as the "little MCR girl" and give her amazing support! They always remind her they "got her back"! Grace is currently working on writing and performing her own songs, and just got cast on a new show called Majors and Minors- a music show on the HUB network, premiering Sept. 23, 2011
