About this user
ABOUT 2D: 2D is known to be very innocent and trusting, and especially accident-prone, as exhibited in the video for the song "Rock the House" (where he is hit repeatedly with billiard balls), as well as in a promo for the song "DARE" (in which he was hit by two bumper cars).
2D is also somewhat of a sissy, as he can't seem to stand up to people on many, if not all, occasions (such as scene in which Russel asks 2D to kill an eel for his dinner).
Because of the 'eight-ball fractures' in his eye sockets, 2D currently suffers from very intense migraine headaches. As a result, he is pretty much permanently doped up on painkillers, which doesn't help his intelligence either. Despite his high level of mental deficiency, his occasional bouts of insight and philosophical statements can be taken to imply some sort of activity in his brain. It is debatable, though.
It was implied, through a series of e-mails found on his laptop in the Gorillaz website, that 2D fathered a series of illegitimate children between the first and second albums. 2D's irresponsibility may either stem from his stupidity or his constant state of intoxication (from painkillers).
ABOUT NOODLE: Noodle is the only member of Gorillaz, besides 2D, who demonstrated any type of vocal talent (though in Rise of the Ogre, many of Murdoc's statements show that he believes he can sing and that nobody appreciates his vocal talents, and exclaimed he did the vocals for "White Light" while one of the Mexicans he owed for breaking him out of jail was on Bass).
During Phase One of the Gorillaz, Noodle could only speak Japanese, with the exceptions of her bandmates' names and small words such as "duh" or "yeah," and Russel had translated for her (often, if not always, incorrectly); but she had done vocals in English: the chorus for 19-2000 and backup in several tracks in the first album.
It was not until Phase Two with the Demon Days album that anyone actually heard her fluently speak English conversationally. Noodle is still one of the most talented members of the band, as recognized by other members, and still has vocal talent and is a notably good dancer. She went on to sing the entire track for DARE and to be the only band member to star in two music videos by herself ("DARE" and "El MaƱana").
ABOUT MURDOC: He is the self-proclaimed 'leader' of the band and often makes attempts to bully the other members into doing things his way. He's also something of a womanizer. Despite these grave personality flaws, he also manages to be highly amusing through his use of creative insults and misanthropic rants. He is an alcoholic and a former speed addict, who also has problems with personal hygiene. His main influences are the likes of Black Sabbath, David Bowie and The Rolling Stones, however, he is also fond of AC/DC, Syd Barrett and The Ramones. As for personality, Murdoc seems to be based on Keith Richards, which is easy to see in live performances and interviews. Other influences for Murdoc, as well as the other characters of the band, our stated in the "Charts of Darkness" mockumentary about the Gorillaz, which can be found on the Phase 1 dvd. Murdoc was, for a time, idolized by his vocalist and keyboard player, 2D; Murdoc very blatantly does not return the compliment and beats 2D up whenever he gets the chance. Murdoc also seems to have a fascination with Nazi paraphernalia--in the video for Dirty Harry he is seen actually wearing a uniform very reminiscent of a Nazi's. He can be seen performing pelvic thrusts in several of the Gorillaz videos, such as "Rock the House" (to knock away billiard balls) and Feel Good Inc (as a sort of dance), and in a few live shows as well.
ABOUT RUSSEL: Russel is severely unhinged. This may be a result of his frequent trauma from numerous possessions. His mental state has deteriorated noticeably since Del's exorcism. Despite his mental status, Russel is known to be a very eloquent speaker, largely due to the private schooling he received in his youth. Russel has also seen the Grim Reaper twice. He is on medication for his depression, psychosis, and traumatism, most likely Xanax; Murdoc (unsuccessfully) tries to calm down Russel during an interview in We Are the Dury by telling him, "go pop another Xanax, Russ" and later in the same interview, Russel talks about how his medication was wearing off during the recording of "White Light" on the album 'Demon Days', resulting in the erratic and violent drumming heard during the track.
