In the 70`s also Synth-Pop came up. Synth-Pop and experimental electronic music just had been forerunners of many other styles which came up in the 80`s :
New Wave, EBM, House, Acid, Rap and also not to forget a very interesting kind of style - Synthie-Rock (f.e. Saga or Forreigner...) and...
Especially in Germany a music style has been called NDW (Neue Deutsche Welle / New German Wave)
