For any country. Anybody declaring undying fealty to imaginary lines and a myraid community is naive. It's just brainwashing social control. Patriotism/Nationalism is the last dogma. It's the equivalent of Witch Hunts and Divine Right. We can blame Bush and Obama all day long but the truth is it's our fault for letting the politicians/govt do whatever it takes to maintain our way of life.
I don't give a shit if America is or isn't the greatest country in the world. Doesn't matter, I'm fucking sick of hearing it from the minions who can't develope their own self respect so they use something as artificial as the greatness of their country to prop them up.
What is it that you all are so proud of, anyway? A system that's only as good as we make it? A govt. that is mummified in red tape? The American people...most of whom are complete strangers to you? Freedom that can be found around the world in nations JUST as free as we are? Maybe even more considering how there are 17-18 countries in the world that are more Democratic than we are.
Oh yes, I can just hear the jingoistic masses crying out about all the brave men and women and using their sacrifices as a crutch for their hollow beliefs. Guess what? People dying for a cause doesn't make it right. Every cause on earth has had somebody die for it. People have died fighting for Fascism, communism, and the EVIL socialism. The death of everyone in war is tragic.
I feel like Sipico's lament, knowing that my home is on a downward spiral that all empires on history have been on. And we are on that spiral.
