About this user

Angel was born on May 16, 2002 and is a purebred Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Angel and I have been together ever since she was three months old and we've been best friends ever since! Angel knows her basic commands and even a few tricks. Angel is trained exclusively by positive reinforcement.

Roman was born on May 13, 2011 and is a purebred German Shepherd Dog. He is my rising star and my first BIG dog. We've been together since June 20, 2011 and he's getting even more handsome and smarter as each day goes by. I absolutely adore him! Roman knows a few basic commands already, he is being trained exclusively by positive reinforcement clicker training.

A clicker is a way of communicating with your dog. When you click you're telling your dog that what he/she did is what you wanted them to do and that you want that behavior repeated.
I also use encouraging words such as GOOD and YES.
I also use items to get Angel more motivated (she's very food motivated). You don't have to use food all the time, just something your dog really, really likes (i.e a favorite toy).
In most cases people think it's ok to use harmful and painful methods to train their dog. I think otherwise, I would NEVER train any dog like this. The fact is, your dog will not learn any faster and will most likely learn to fear you. A well- trained dog will be a lot easier to be around. Remember, the point is to love your dog and your dog will love you back.
