But by the end of their testimony the 'world' will know who they are and hate them. If it were me, being a Christian I'd seek them out and follow them. And not ever hate on them at all. Being in this world which hates good people who keep Gods commandments and actively makes war against us these two would be my first port of call for support and encouragement.
Who They Were:
They were angels in heaven standing by God. Watch this video for indisputable Biblical proof:

Who They Are Now:
They are now men born of women. They are now prophets. No longer angels.
Why They Are Here:
God is just. He will bring His judgment upon the world for it's wicked and perverse ways. They keep not His commandments but make war against those that do. This injustice will be answered by Gods two agents of justice via the four powers (three of which are true weapons of mass destruction). These weapons of Gods justice will be the means by which these two will torment ('torture' in the Greek) the world for their evil. God is not mocked, whatsoever a man will sow THAT also shall he reap.
Who They Will Be:
Ultimately they will seal their testimony with their blood (the ethical aspect of their witness). Part of the word 'witness' means 'martyr'.
The saints are being persecuted right now; Persecution is a reality and a part of Satan's Beast War (Rev. 12:17 + 13:7). IF YOU ARE BEING PERSECUTED....
Then YOU are a SAINT! You are being targeted for this reason BY SATAN HIMSELF. The Lord said to rejoice over this fact. It means YOU ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK and are destined for glory and a wonderful future with Jesus Christ our King. I am proud to be associated with you in this suffering.
Jesus is an awesome God. He loves you unconditionally - your faults and failings are not an issue with Him. Trust me on this. Just continue to cleanse yourself through His blood (1 John 1:9) and use the word to testify against the false evidence that Satan brings you and you will overcome his trash (READ Rev. 15:2!!!! - please).

Nice channel. And an interesting attitude towards the two fire spitting men who will be hated by the whole world for their actions. One thing is certain. They are ready to rock 'n roll and they are running out of the little patience that they have. Their training is done and soon the Lord will order them to wear a sack cloth. They are the bravest of all men. In heaven, all angels are ready as well and awaiting the Lord's go ahead. The two witnesses walk with God. And they are prophets. But they are the kind of prophet who doesn't step aside when confronted with evil on any kind. Oh no. In fact, it's gonna be play time for them. Finally they can avenge their spritual brothers who died horrible deaths because of their faith and their message.
