Project: "Mirror Lakes"

For the CNN series Eye On (formerly: i-list) CNN International and Heimat Berlin created the "Mirror Lakes" project.

A unique art installation consisting of 2500 mirrors with a weight of 3.5 tons covering an area of 400 square meters tours through different major cities around the world, forming a striking reflection of the buildings and people around it, offering passers-by a stunning new perspective on their everyday environment. From 8 to 12 September 2011 the "Mirror Lakes" project was also visting Poland delivering a fresh perspective on the two Polish cities Poznan and Warsaw.

The installation accompanies the CNN special "Eye On Poland". CNN reports one week from Poland examining the people, places and businesses at the forefront of the country, thus providing a picture of modern Poland in all its many dimensions. "Eye on Poland" catches the country at the start of what promises to be one of the most important moments in its recent history - a period culminating in next year's Euro 2012 football tournament. From 11 to 13 February 2011 the "Mirror Lakes" toured through Germany, starting in Frankfurt, passing through Dresden and finally ending in Berlin, drawing curious crowds in the major German cities. The installation and its journey has been documented in short online-films to be seen here on the Go Beyond Borders YouTube channel.
