All attempts to persuade him as to the genuine existence of America, with photographs, films and news of that great nation were rebutted; with claims that they had been faked, or pictures of somewhere else with false captions.
Meanwhile, America continued to exist and the citizens of that great nation continued about their business; for it made no difference, what that young man believed...
For anyone wondering what kind of people become Conspiracy Theorists, I'd highly recommend "The Assassination Of Richard Nixon" starring Sean Penn. Not normally my favourite actor, but he portrays his character very well, in a story inspired by real life events.
