Click on Playlists to find videos in a certain topic (like Learn Chinese). I specialize in foreign language training (conversation, reading, writing) for a variety of languages. Most of my videos are filmed in either English or Chinese as the main language of instruction.

I have a background in Linguistics, so I take a scientific approach to language and also do documentation. I'm not just a linguist but a polyglot as well, as I enjoy acquiring to speak and read foreign languages. Although I speak major languages, I use these as a tool to reach the largest audience.
I'm very concerned about the preservation of our earth and all its natural beauty and this includes all of humanity. Advances in technology are inevitable and they are helping major languages become more powerful and widespread, at the same time casting minority languages to the fringes. I believe that technology can help give minorities a voice and I have made it my lifelong mission to empower minority languages through technology.
The videos that I have posted during my first year on YouTube have started to become more and more diverse. I started with many classroom-like teaching videos, of which you can find various languages and various series of videos. I will continue to rotate through these and record new ones. Recently I have started taking the camera to the streets of the countries where I live and visit to show you my interactions with a culturally diverse world.
Please do not criticize the people I feature in my videos. These are not experts or well-trained people or even high-caliber products developed by corporations for mass-marketing sales. These are glimpses into the life of the average world citizen and they are part of what makes our world more whole.
If you are interested in moribund or disappearing languages, I urge you to travel to your local indigenous peoples and interview them and ask them to speak in their indigenous languages to share with the world. Share their culture and share their heritage. This may be one of the last chances we have to record the sounds of their language.
My 2011 Training Schedule has changed. I'm now learning 18 of the aboriginal languages in Taiwan so I can take the proficiency exams in November (reading, speaking, listening, writing). As of writing I only have 4 months left to prepare, so I will make a documentary of my progress. The languages are: SaiSiyat, Atayal, Sakizaya, Pazeh, Seediq, Truku, Thao, Bunun, Amis, Tsou, Rukai, Kavalan, Kanakanavu, Mantauran, Puyuma, Saaroa, Paiwan, Daw
I also have a number of travel videos, so don't forget to check those out.
I can't answer how many languages I know since my ability to speak each one varies to very little to very much, and there are many I can only read. My research includes more than 200 dialects of China.
