It could be because I heard it first, but I like the version with Westlife better. It seems to emote more than this one does for some reason.

@victormatll Actually, they did have remote mics at this time. Synth artist Howard Jones is seen using them at his concerts as early as '83.

This was the last year in which he was able to hit all the high notes on this one, and I believe it was the last year in which he performed it in its original key of F Major (in more recent years, he has dropped the key to E-flat).

@trfesok Unfortunately, the key signatures for the two versions are drastically different enough that attempting that combination wouldn't likely yield very pleasing results.

My mother has this 45, as well as the Westies singles ("Island Girl" and "Grow Some Funk"/"I Feel Like a Bullet"). I always loved the incorporation of Alan Aldridge's album art in the label in place of the typical MCA rainbow layout.

@TylerGDaniels Most everyone would agree with you, but most people don't even count this record when debating which of Elton's albums is worst. It it was included, there would be no contest, thus defeating the purpose of debating the discography at all.

@landrykkb It was almost non-existent to its own generation, too. A #36 hit doesn't usually denote a notable chart hit, or a song that stands the test of time, though there are exceptions, such as "Tiny Dancer", which surprisingly only hit #41 upon its release in 1972.
