Thank you for viewing! This channel contains only my higher audio videos; my other channel at
http://www.youtube.com/user...
Contains all of my YouTube videos.
Piano and panpipe (panflute) music played by myself. The piano is a 40+ year old 9 foot Yamaha F.C. I had the rare (and expensive) opportunity to put myself in debt for last fall, the panpipes are mostly ones made for me by a craftsman living in British Columbia.
It took me a while (I'm slow sometimes) to figure out how to mute the poor sound from my camera, so a lot of the the videos I am showing have pictures of my garden and other scenic things with the sound track. More of the later ones have me visible again, for those who like to watch the performance.

*****
The "Band" is just me at the moment; though I enjoy playing with a drummer, most of my musical life has been as a soloist. I'm a hard-cord classical pianist in background (no degree or anything, just love classical music), but have also developed major interests in Ragtime, Folk & 'Old pop' music. Took up the panpipe @10 years back to give myself something to do while I walk & wait for the bus, as I do not drive. (My arms were getting tired carrying the piano down the street. ;) )
Record Label:
Independent
Label Type:
Unsigned
Band Members:
Just me!
Influences:
Chopin is my favourite classical composer, followed by such folks as Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert, Debussy, Albinez, and many others. I'm kind of weak in the Baroque area & know almost no Mozart (not a favourite of mine for piano music). On the panpipes I am largely a folk musician (celtic, especially Scottish music) but also play a fair number of popular pieces (mostly older stuff).#73 Most Viewed Musician (Canada) Week of Aug. 24 2008.
Sounds Like:
Some guy playing the panpipes while walking down the street! (Or some guy playing that monstrous grand piano behind the window.)
Hometown:

Country:
Canada
Occupation:
Typesetter
Companies:
New Flyer Industries
Interests:
Musical instruments (piano, panpipes, bamboo flutes, recorders, pennywhistle, clarinet, glockenspiel, mey, box harp), science, archaelogy news, history, pottery, art, marbling, gardening.
Movies:
Hate the television and have newer owned one. Don't listen to the radio or watch movies. I'm an entertainment media hermit! ;)
Music:
Chopin is my favourite classical composer; I also play the usual suspects (Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert, Debussy, Bach, Handel and so on) with the exception of Mozart (at least so far). I also like a fair number of lesser known modern (non-atonal) composers (Hengeveld, Berkely, Ireland, and others) as well as Ragtime & some old pop.
Books:
Used to read a lot of science fiction & fantasy, Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Andre Norton, Arthur C. Clarke, L. Sprague du Campe, and many others that I'm too lazy to type out, but now I'm older & boring & read the news instead. :( ;) I do very much like Terry Pratcht though, of more recent authors. H'ain't read no Harry Potter books!

A very tender composition, it has a lullabye-like quality to it. The middle section is very heavy and langorous, like a still summer night.

A multi-track a-capella version of Howard Shore's melody sung by myself. I think I am singing it a little lower than the original; my apologies for...
