Glasgow School of English is a family-run business that was established in 1997. Since then we have developed an excellent reputation for providing quality English language tuition in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Every year we help hundreds of students improve their English language skills and achieve their academic or career goals.

Glasgow School of English is British Council accredited and ISO9001 certified. Glasgow School of English is also a member of the International Association of Language Centres (IALC). We are strongly committed to ensuring our quality standards are met and that each and every student enjoys their stay.

Our reputation is founded on both the quality of our teaching and the level of personal care and attention that we provide to each of our students. Many of our students come back to study at the school or send their friends and family. The number of personal recommendations is very high.

We offer a range of courses all year round and you can choose to study from as little as one week to one year or more. You can also participate in regular social and cultural events which include local sightseeing trips. Recent trips have included FREE visits to local sights such as the Glasgow Art Fair, Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, George Square Ice Skating Rink, the Burrell Collection and discounted sightseeing trips to further destinations such as the Scottish Highlands, Loch Lomond and Millport.

Whatever your requirements, our friendly staff are on hand to assist you and ensure that you enjoy your stay in Glasgow.

We help you to learn more about the city of Glasgow and about life in Scotland by organising school trips and social events. From October to May there is 1 social event each week, and from May to September we have 2 weekly social events. Teachers join students on our trips and social events to give everyone the chance to practise their English outside of the classroom. Social events are also a good opportunity to meet and chat to students from other classes and countries. School trips usually take place in Glasgow and we try to keep the cost to less than £5. We welcome suggestions of places to go and things to do, so please feel free to tell us your ideas. Local trips often have an entrance fee of a few pounds. Recent trips have included: The Burrell Collection and Pollok Park, The Lighthouse - museum of design and architecture, Hunterian Museum and Gallery, Hampden Scottish Football Museum and many more. We organise a football club (play football with teachers and classmates) and a coffee club (have a coffee and a chat with a teacher in a relaxed coffee shop near to the school) at different times throughout the year.
