The Commonwealth Games are an event like no other, inspiring performance, passion and pride throughout the Commonwealth. Glasgow and Scotland have been an integral part of the Commonwealth Games Family since the very first games in 1930.
Held once every four years, the Games today are huge. There are 71 countries, 6,500 athletes and officials, 10 days of world class competitions and cultural events, hundreds of thousands of people welcomed to the host city, including the worlds media, with hundreds of millions more watching on television the world over.
