Street preaching Christian evangelists. They're everywhere, and you'd do well to avoid them. Or, if you dare, find them and challenge them, and see how much they really know about their own religion. Then maybe tell them that whatever madness they're trying to serve up to you, you simply don't want to know... because it just isn't so.

The original title was 'Relentless'. You can probably understand why - it certainly wasn't the easiest video I've ever recorded!

When I was very small, and that was a long, long time ago, my Dad told me that I was old enough to go to the circus and that on my very next birthday he would take me to see one. This is what happened.

Negligent homicide: a charge brought against people, who by inaction allow others under their care or presence intentionally to die.
Sound familiar? It's the Easter story.
Original blog (the video is slightly modified): http://www.gisburne.com/blog/2008-04-16a
Note: you probably realise that option 1 of the 3 at the end should have been: Save your son but allow a million people to die
Disclaimer (yes, for some unthinking idiots I really do need to add this):
Remember at all times that my descriptions of God actually doing things are hypothetical. I don't for one second believe that Jesus was the son of God or indeed that there is a God at all. But in these types of arguments the case has to be put in terms of 'if God existed, and acted in the ways described by Christians, then x, y and z would be the realities of the situation.' Atheists should probably endeavour to explain that every now and again, because we are constantly told that we do actually believe in God but are denying him. No, we don't believe. We are pointing out what nonsense these teachings really are.

A creation requires a creator. Fair enough. But if you admit that, you must also admit that a creation requires much more than simply the presence of a creator. The real question is not who or what created the universe, but HOW. Only science is asking that question; religion simply doesn't want to know. And is the universe really a creation? Isn't 'formation' a far more reasonable description? It is also, of course, one which does not require the involvement of any supernatural creator.

Many religious people now want to teach the 'science' of Intelligent Design in schools. Should we let them? Could we actually learn something from this amazing field of discovery?
Er, no.

No need to tell me that I am not exactly raising the bar with respect to thoughtful debate on this subject. But hey, I'm not one of the idiots claiming the world is 6000 years old, was put together piece by piece by a big invisible bloke 'beyond time and space' and that Noah took whacking great dinosaurs on a big boat while God massacred everyone. That'll be ID fans and creationists, and the sounds you hear are pretty close to the amount of sense they make. In fact my first thought was to have a totally silent video... which would be EXACTLY the amount of sense they make.
Besides, what other excuse do I need for promoting an album called 'Karneval der Vagina'? Which reminds me. Credit, for Creative Commons purposes, to:

People have been asking me to read Poe's 'The Raven' for a while now, but it has been previously recorded by a large number of far more lyrical voices than mine. So I thought I'd keep the feel of the poem, but change the words... just a little!

How to get complex results through simple steps. Solution: don't throw all the dice at once. Use gradual processes instead. Examples of gradual processes: evolution, erosion, deposition. This video is NOT claiming that inorganic processes such as erosion are part of evolution, merely that they are gradual processes.
The link to the dice simulator mentioned in this video is: http://www.gisburne.com/pgdice.php
I originally wrote this as a blog, way back in June 2007: http://www.gisburne.com/ngblog.php?id=2007-06-13a
UPDATE: Sorry, the morons are getting way out of hand on this video's comments, so I'm putting a stop to it. Creationists are posting nonsensical, faith-based crap, and I am wasting half my evening replying to bullshitters who know FUCK ALL about evolution, and who bring in totally unconnected subjects such as the Big Bang and God. I say again: UNCONNECTED. So comments are now screened.
Creationists, I don't want to fucking know. Go pray to your invisible friends. You're not needed here. Your opinions are worthless. I do not talk to creationists.
I will be screening the comments once a day, probably when I wake up in the morning. That's it. If the YT comment system actually WORKED (ie make a post, see the post) I probably wouldn't be doing this at all, but there you are, YT shits on me again. If it takes 20 refreshes to see what someone has posted, you can bet your life I am NOT going to sit here clicking over and over, only to find it's from some Bible-licking, uneducated snot-sucker who thinks he can hear God with his 'heart's ear'. Yes, I mean YOU 2007kid:

Let's see how many say 'I've studied evolution... but we couldn't possibly come from apes or from dirt'. Word to the wise: 'study' does not mean 'I heard about it in church'. This video is NOT about the origins of the universe, so don't bring that up either. Everyone else, feed the trolls at your peril. Quotes from famous people are banned - see my response to a55a55inx. They add nothing to the discussion. And remember: creationism is stupid and will not be given a voice here. Go and blow God farts in your own channel - that's what it's there for, to make your OWN videos.
