John de Winter

For a very short period of time I took singing lessons at the Borgerhout Music Academy where tenor Jan Van Elsacker was my teacher.I had to stop because of health problems.
I re-started about ten years later, in 2005.
At this moment I still see my vocal coach on a weekly basis.
My teacher, Mrs Maria Michel, is a soprano who was a soloist at the Flemish Opera. She was a student of the well-known Belgian soprano Mrs Andrea Nevry. Mrs. Michel taught at different academies and at the Ghent Conservatory.
I also go to the Voice Learning Institute at The Hague in Holland a couple of times a year where Mrs I. Voermans teaches me the principles of the Lichtenberg Institute.
I have been a member of the Veraldi Ensemble since 1994, first as a presenter and since 2006 also as a singer. It's under their wings that I sang my first notes on stage.
