"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music." --Nietzsche Something that intrigues me about dance is that it carries it's own palpable rhythm, energetic and emotive, so if you can't hear the music that guides it, can you still feel the rhythm? I hope so. :)

My name is Tiana Zoumer. I am a hooper. A dancer. A writer. A painter. A constant self-examiner. And I'm constantly holding space for change in myself and others. Don't ask me the point of this, because I'm not sure there is one, besides it's what I felt at the time. This is the first and only take of this and I didn't edit it, it's definitely not choreographed hooping and not what I'd call my 'best' but that's just my stupid perspective now isn't it? Quite frankly if I think anymore about it I'm going to puke. I'm letting it go. Sharing it, because our experiences are all valuable, not everyone here has to resonate with this particular message. If you hate it, love it, resonate, are ambivalent, that's all relevant to your growth and story so by all means let it all out. I'm gonna spend my lifetime expressing myself, questioning myself and with all my grace never landing in a single answer. Maybe this is just the best way I know how to love myself. Thanks to anyone who expresses themselves as well, I'll do my best to resonate, it inspires me and I thank you. I've felt, thought, and danced my way into this space and I'll do the same to move through it, the least I can do is fucking own it, oh and laugh about it. Because seriously, I'm playing with a fucking hula hoop. Man. Good thing life my life isn't as serious as I take it sometimes.

Purple knees and empty fountains, the perfect weird warm winter day. Little diddly of some stuff I've been hammering on: really trying to get isolation play down with the hoop, as well as some angular shoulder hooping with inner wraps, arm extensions, as well as what a friend of mine dubbed "flebbing". Hopefully the music mostly matches up with everything, but either way, enjoy!
