Those grimy ska tunes with that undeniable hip hop flavour, Ghetto Blaster brings the rawness only few attempt. Many people have categorized GB as one of the new crack rock steady bands of the late 2000's and dubbed by many as "the 4th wave of ska" their upbeat tempo's will bring you up, but don't let them fool you, to classify GB as another ska band would completely ignore the other side of the beast. The fast, raw, energetic punk progressions that leave you guessing what you'll be hit with next. Ghetto Blaster or as most know them by, the GBC have done nothing but work their asses off since the release of their self titled EP in 2009, and it's shown. With steady feedback and a fan base established not only in their home town of Toronto, but worldwide. It was apparent when GB broke onto the scene they were here to stay.
With an impressive show resume along side the likes of Mustard Plug, The Flatliners, The Dreadnoughts, Flatfoot 56, The Resignators & 40oz To Freedom to name a few, Ghetto Blaster continues to grow and progress, an evolution transparent on their debut full length "Think For Yourself" set to release early 2012. "We've been living off the success of our EP for awhile now. As much as we all still love the old songs like anything else in life, it's time for something new. We're not the same band as we were when we started out, like anything else in life we've all grown, changed, and evolved in time, same goes for our music." said singer Crowley. Recorded again by Ian Wilkinson who had recorded their EP and now a full time member of the band, "Think For Yourself" is sure to impress and intrigue old fans and new listeners alike.
Even with the few line up changes which has moved Crowley from bass to guitar, brought !an (Corporation) in from a producer to bassist & brought long time friend Chris (Crack Squad) into the never ending party, Ghetto Blaster has been going strong for the past three years, crushing show after show with no hesitation. With tours in the works and plans to release "Think For Yourself" through Riot Ska Records (UK) Unknown Records (CA) & Title Track Recordz (CA) 2012 is set to become Ghetto Blaster's finest year yet.
