About this user

My name is Gerry. I like to think of myself as a cool smart guy. I'm into music and spent most of my youth at concerts and small gigs. As well as many of the underground dance clubs in Los Angeles. I'm a news junkie and a history buff. I like smart well informed people especially when they are open to discussing their opinions. I hate the TV news channels, FOX, CNN and MSNBC, they lie, lie and lie.I detest where pop culture has gone in the past ten-twenty years especially in regards to Reality TV Shows. I lament the passing of underground culture as now everything, even ideas, are just merchandise, to be peddled by the big corporations that masquerade as independent companies. I love people and feel let down when they eagerly rush to the trough to lap up the swill that is being passed off as art nowadays. I encourage artists everywhere to do there own thing and express themselves but wish that classic realism would come back in vogue. I miss actors that could act and movies made in a few weeks that became classics (Like Casablanca). I miss reporters who investigated stories and exposed corruption as opposed to the bought and sold quislings we have now. I miss black and white televisions and long play records(LPs). While I don't think that everything I miss will come back again, I do believe that the 21st century will reveal a "return to quality" movement as everyone finally gets sick of the substandard shit we've been stuck with for too long.
