@KaneRobot They did that back then, when they gave someone a pure gimmick name like HTM or Mr Perfect or The Genius, when they introduced him they would start out by using the gimmick name as a nickname. "The Genius" Lanny Poffo, etc, until the gradually just referred to them by the gimmick name....

All these people were WWF employees, Vince made them stay late to be the 'audience' for these shows, without extra pay. And Hogan and Flair did a series of house-show matches but they didn't click like the WWF thought they ought for a match of that caliber.

@wall91nutz They introduced the title a while before the name change went down. I think it was because the northern part of the promotion [Knoxville area] began to be talked about on TV in the south and vice versa, also it was like Georgia's top title being the National title, it sounded bigger.
