Though he made his acting debut on television in 1978, Clooney gained fame and recognition by portraying Dr. Douglas "Doug" Ross on the long-running medical drama ER from 1994 to 1999. While working on ER, he started attracting a variety of leading roles in films including Batman & Robin (1997) and Out of Sight (1998), where he first teamed with long-term collaborator Steven Soderbergh. In 2001, Clooney's fame widened with the release of his biggest commercial success, Ocean's Eleven, the first of a profitable film trilogy. He made his directorial debut a year later with the 2002 biographical thriller Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and has since directed films such as Good Night, and Good Luck. (2005) and Leatherheads (2008). He won the 2006 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his work in the Middle East thriller Syriana (2005).
Clooney's humanitarian work includes his advocacy of finding a resolution for the Darfur conflict, raising funds for the 2010 Haiti earthquake victims, and creating documentaries such as Sand and Sorrow to raise awareness about international crises.

George Clooney has been named the next celebrity UN Ambassador. It sounds like a perfect fit.
The Darfur activist has fallen into work thats right up his alley the United Nations has selected George Clooney as a UN Messenger of Peace. Clooneys new title was announced on Friday, January 18, 2008. Of the selection, George said,
I am deeply honored to receive this appointment. I look forward to working with the United Nations in order to build public support for its critically important work in some of the most difficult, dangerous and dire places in the world.
The location of Georges work will be announced January 31. He is now one of nine Messengers of Peace.
And it looks like Georges peace work is getting started right away. Nigerian militants have already invited the actor to visit the area and they have asked for a UN intervention, saying that the unrest in the region could create a crisis greater than that in Darfur.

Best thing to do when you feel isolated is to go camping....yes camping...you know, building a fire, erecting your tents and going with a group of people. Please remember to take some flares, a green high powered laser light so you can say hi to the ETs', torches, string, matches, waterproof lighters, dried food, a compass, a map, camera's & sound equipment and most importantly plenty of S'more! ( I know you are against firearms but you could take some pepper spray and a water-gun!)

George Clooney is not only the sexiest in Hollywood, he is also one of the nicest and most down to earth honest people you could meet and that's why the world loves him :-D We love you George, please don't ever feel isolated...whenever you do just connect to the world and know there are many who feel the same way you do....you are an empath and a golden thread in life's rich tapestry. Hi George :-) I had my ears waxed this morning before I went to work at the office and I feel much better as I can now hear and I appeciate I have my hearing still because being deaf in one ear for the past 10 days has made me feel very low. Anyway I want you to know that I approved of the hand horn you blew at the paparazzi...that is a good idea! I would feel so angry being pressured with rude and intrusive questions all the time. If you ever forget your horn then learn to say in Italian "mi dispiace, non c'e' trippa per i gatti. " which translates as "sorry, there is no tripe for the cats!" it is pronounced:- mee disp-eee-achay, non chair treepa per eee gat-eee!

George can you tell Obama he's feckin making me mad! What the hell is he doing? Signing a declaration of war against Iran? Jesus Holy Moly.... more feckin dead bodies? Holy crap when will people start to wake up! Baaa baaa baaa go the sheeples....I shake my head in utter despair.

You looked awesome dressed as a clown with your puppy dog gaze, that was so adorable! Also the people you were with at the Academy thingy looked like nice people, many nice Jewish people there I saw! hehe all very nice :-D I do think you are a nice person George and Stacy looks very happy with you and you with her and you make a hot couple. She is also very graceful the way she speaks and she has some very good manners. Her clothes are also very beautiful and she has good taste as you do! I'm grovelling now so I best go!!! :-) xxx
