A theologican says to a philosopher "Philosophy is like being in a dark room and looking for a black cat." The philosopher replies "Theology is like being in a dark room, looking for a black cat that isn't there and then claiming to have found it."
"It's often uncomfortable, but in the long run it makes more sense to deal with reality."

Since I sometimes feel like taking part in discussions, I guess it's a good idea not to write all too much here to paint a picture of my personality, which would be irrelevant for and unnecessarily distracting from the points being made.I hope that this "policy" reduces the likelihood of discussions becoming derailed or unnecessarily effortful to maintain because of speculations about why I hold this or that opinion, stuff like that.
But as for opinions, I think it doesn't hurt to mention that I don't necessarily hold anything dearly that I defend in an argument, as passionate as it might look. Something seeming (in)correct is a sufficient ignitor of my will to debate. I might even argue on opposnig fronts from one day to another, or both on the same day. Call that playing devil's advocate if you like. To me it seems quite natural, and sensible. Actually I'm inclined to say that this attitude is the only way towards truth.
I like anonymity. It's the ideas that count.
