gelsey is a singer/songwriter living between bethlehem, pa and new york city. she plays other people's pianos around the city while singing into other people's microphones. notably intimate village venues like caffe vivaldi, sidewalk cafe, and rockwood musichall. she has studied music from the preschool to university level... for what that's worth. she likes making mix tapes. she has a masters in performance studies from nyu. her undergrad degrees are in vocal peformance (bring on the opera), theatre (directing), and philosophy. she works with the performance group/postmodern dance collective - urisov - www.urisov.com. her more recent adventures involve working in a piano shop and missing a plane out of wyoming. and, for those curious, she WAS named after the ballerina gelsey kirkland.
