@hamajuggle there's nothing mainstream about it. It's surely their indulgent take on that well-worn 70s rock sound. The more I think about it (particularly the surprise-element of the release) the more I think this is an in-joke from a band known for their sense of humour.

Olivier is clearly the superior actor but I don't feel he properly grasps Hamlet's character. Branagh's, whose production is the best, does slightly better but over acts the part. A combination of Branagh's grasp of Hamlet and Olivier's acting chops would be aces.
