I'm Gary Gee, my former channel Gryg73 was suspended for no reason as I can see it. I did not receive any strikes on my channel or violate any Terms Of Use and as far as infringing on anyone's copyright of a song, come on now, what do I have to gain from such, I work pay check to pay check and will never make it as a singer, so for my account to be suspended like this is really lame on You Tube's part.

I truly am overwhelmed at the response that I have gotten from you guys here on You Tube, you guys are awesome.

Update, You Tube has finally let me know why my channel was suspended due to copyright claims on some songs, not the video contact but the audio content and I have filed several counter notifications. There is a chance that I can get Gryg73 back by the end of the month.

My channel was restored but it came with a price, strikes that did not show up before were now appearing on the account. When I got it back I had two strikes on the account, I filed counter notifications on those and the strikes were removed but then another appeared and then in the middle of being online my account was hit again. So now there are two strikes once again on the account and one more and it's gone again.

I have learned through this experience that one should take all strikes serious in order to keep your channel. You Tube doesn't want to lose or close accounts so when you get a strike, file a counter notification, it takes about 14 days to get it worked out but the strike can be removed and one's account back in good standing.

I've made a suggestion also to You Tube in regard to removing videos from what I have learned about all this.

Instead of removing videos that have copyright infringing content on them right off, notify the account that has such, give them 10 days to remove it or the account gets a strike against it. To me this would work better than just removing videos out right, after all the videos belong to the account holder, not You Tube.

See here is what happened with me, videos were removed and I just took at that cause no strikes appeared on my account, under copyright it said before I got suspended that my account was in good standing, so this was a flaw on You Tube's part but the strikes were there and I've learned to take em serious enough and file a counter notification for all.

So here's my suggestion on what to do if you get a strike on your account:
When a video is removed, file a counter notification for that video, YT will give you the information you need to do such once you inquire. Once the counter notification is done, YT will send you an email saying that the notification has been sent to the party who had your video removed and if the party doesn't respond in 10 days, your video will be restored. After you get the email from You Tube delete the infringing video from your account (making it Private or changing the name of it doesn't work). Wait about 14 days then respond to the email you received, just reply to it and let YT know it has been long enough for a response and they will respond back with notification that the video has been restored. Make sure you use the email YT sent you to respond with the counter notification number on it and the URL on your video.

My suggestion to YT about giving the account holder the option of removing the video before the strike is placed on there is much better and makes the community a much happier place. Most people who have gotten a strike aren't abusing the copyright rules at all but just having fun online and therefore, yes we should be notified but no we should not be penalized for just having fun.
