I agree with the previous post. I lived in Chicago at the time and attended many concerts. While Orchestra Hall's acoustics were problematic back then, the recordings don't match even that. It's as though they placed the mikes way too close. There's no sound of the hall in the recordings.

I just looked it up after seeing the beginning credits. It was first performed in Brussels in 1998. The production then traveled around in 1999. It was shown in America at BAM. The production was directed by Trisha Brown. It's very, very impressive.
