Very elegant, classy and old-fashioned. Well done. You gave us an essay on the lovely clean tone from the ES-125. Contrary to what many people say, soundwise the Gibson ES-125 is not a one trick-pony. Vintage P-90 on a hollow body range from crisp-clear, quasi-acoustic (think of first Jim Hall) t...

Dario Lapenna (also spelled as La Penna) is a highly personal jazz guitarist, one of the few brave enough to use a Fender Stratocaster in a jazz context. I also appreciated his work with out with the great late Nicola Arigliano (e.g. in Arigliano's "Go Man!" live CD).

Grandissimo Lelio Luttazzi.

I appreciate your effort in mastering such a seminal tune. Yet, don't you think that the guitar sounds out of tune? It is especially apparent in the so called 'middle eight' bars, where one plays higher on the fretboard. Maybe a good setup of octaves could help too.
BTW, chords too in the middle...

Very well done, tonkadub! Posglov's version is more rhythmically free. Your rendition has a nice swinging character. I really like it! I also like your half-crunch tone and the slight vibrato. Are you playing a Gibson ES-175? Can I ask you what kind/gauge of strings and which amp you used?

Just sublime! This version of Yesterdays is very close to that on the LP they recorded together in 1976. Both Helen and John are -- so to speak -- musicians who favor pure and naked emotion. No clichées, just the basics. Listen to John's parse and bluesy playing or to Helen's vibratoless singing ...
