Copenhagen Words by Walter Melrose, Music by Charlie Davis Performed by the Oriole Orchestra Recorded October 18, 1924 Brunswick 2356
The Oriole Orchestra version of "Copenhagen" here seems to have been inspired by the famous Wolverine Orchestra which recorded it earlier in 1924.
The Oriole Orchestra was directed by Ted Fio Rito and Danny Russo. and performed originally at the Oriole Terrace Night Club in Detroit and then at the Edgewater Beach Hotel in Chicago, where they did their first radio remote broadcast on March 29, 1924. In August 1925, the Russo-Fio Rito orchestra opened Chicago's new Uptown Theatre. They opened the famous Aragon Ballroom in July 1926, doing radio remotes nationally from both the Aragon and the Trianon ballrooms. Dan Russo left the band in 1928, and Fio Rito took over as leader, touring the midwest with engagements in St. Louis, Kansas City and Cincinnati.

Electrola 1928
Wir flüstern Potpourri zusammengestellt von Nico Dostal
Marek Weber und sein Orchester Aufgenommen im Beethoven-Saal zu Berlin.
Diese Einspielung (leicht gekürzt) enthält:
- Wir flüstern (Thema) - Das Lied der Liebe (The song is ended) - Jetzt geht's der Dolly gut - Man schenkt sich Rosen, wenn man verliebt ist - Eis! Eis! Eis! What do we do on a dew-dew-dewey day?)

Jesse Crawford signed an exclusive contract with Victor Records in 1924. Here, the Victor Black and Gold label, recorded January 21, 1927 features Crawford on the Wurlitzer Organ with Whistling accompanyment by Cowboy singer Carson Robinson. The recording was made at the Wurlitzer Building in New York with Nat Shilkret acting as session director. This 78 is another from the collection of San Antonio banker Gustav Groos graciously loaned to me by his descendants.
