Ustad Asad Ali Khan was undoubtedly the greatest modern exponent of this ancient musical instrument. Music was an act worship for him and the meditative qulality of his music is unsurpseed. His death is a great loss to music. God bless his soul!

@vidaripollen I am in 100% agreement. But it remains a most unfortunate fact of life that the world is full of "petty and tiny minded people". I was simply emphasising that the Indian musicians are not among them. I should add that the Pakistani musicians are equally secular in their outlook.

Never before did I have such an intensely divine feeling of Gurbani as I did while listening to this Shabad Gayan. It is good that Bhai Sahib used the tanpuras and the sarida as accompanying musical instruments and avoided the discordant sounds of the harmonium.
