In Rocket Knight Adventures, if you stand perfectly still when the airship big boss begins, you dodge the junk projectiles completely for the first wave. Ironically, the only time I get hit is when the boss is destroyed, via a cheap shot by the "two bit" commander. (anyone that actually gets that pun please say so in the comments below) (less info)
