About this user

I was a member of USTA during the 80's when I competed. I was feature twirler for Georgia Tech in the early 90's.

Competing in Texas, I was lucky to have watched some of the "greats" growing up: Bonnie Palacious, Ami Palmer, Tina Escamia, Barbie Horner. And had the pleasure of taking private lessons with Frances Winkle, now Frances Whitley. My coach was former feature twirler for The University of Texas at Austin, Lynn Dell (Schoedel) Harrell.

My idol growing up was Corrie Jordan. She won the 3-Baton National Title three times - in 1983, 1984, and 1987. And hence, my favorite event was 3-Baton.

I have some video from the 83 nationals and hope to upload some final performances.

The only time I ever witnessed a perfect "10" was when Glen Bittenbender performed at a nationals. Unfortunately, I do not remember what year that was.
