Don't let the name fool you, I am too young to possibly be affiliated with any political party. Hopefully the name did catch your attention though. ;)
I guess I fit with the Libertarian mindset. My overall mentality I like to describe as conserveotarian, even though I fit with the party of principle more then all others. To me freeing yourself from such labels is the perfect set-up for freethinking, but then again you do need to find some kind of way to describe yourself.
Lately my main activities on youtube have been asking various questions with people on a theory known as Intelligent Design, something which has already changed the way I see the world around me.
I can't say for sure whether it's an entirely true theory or not, but I do tend to test it's claims here on youtube.
Maybe you once got in a debate or an exchange with me at some point, typical debate topics I've found myself in include: Iraq War, Global Warming, Abortion, Gay Rights, and of course more recently, Intelligent Design.
Here's an overview on what I believe as of August 2008:
I feel it is a right for an individual to own a firearm.
The media is slanted to the left. Fox News is the only exception and the ratings show it.
Michael Moore is the most intellectually dishonest man in America.
George Bush is far from perfect and we could do better, but he cannot be blamed for coming to the same conclusion that every major intelligence agency came to with regards to Saddam and the status of Iraq pre-March 2003.
Those who think we invaded Iraq for the purpose of seizing oil for profit could use an economics lesson. Letting Saddam burn his oil fields would increase the value any oil Bush and co. had as a commodity. I find no conceivable way Cheney could benefit from Blind Trust Funds.
If you think there is a comparison between Bush and Hitler then you either know nothing of Bush or nothing of Hitler, or both.
Life begins at conception. From that point on you have an organism that has one cell, grows, reproduces (at the cellular level), requires nutrients, and adapts to it's environment. I would NOT be willing to take the risk of aborting a fetus if it MIGHT be human.
Planned Parenthood is a racist, eugenics loving, unethical organization, period. I want my tax money back and feel that they should receive PRIVATE donations instead. Life centers have been forced to do the same thing, so it's fair enough.
Stem cells hold promise, but I feel recent medical discoveries on how to obtain stem cells from sources other then fetuses will render abortions in this process unnecessary.
I not only think the major tenets behind Global Warming a.k.a Climate change are true and tested, but I do not think it even qualifies as a science. Science relies on prediction and falsification. If you say we can't test your prediction because the results will be disastrous, then don't call what you're doing science.
I believe in a free market. Free Enterprise has given us the very things you use to read and interpret the messages I convey to you right now. Thank you Youtube.
I see no sense behind having the government (what I simply call the Feds) provide health care. Look at the services from the US postal service. Now compare that to UPS, FedEx, and DHL. There's you're answer.
Of course the above means I'm glad the SCHIP program Bush vetoed did not come into play. I do regret Bush supporting a smaller version of a program that should not exist. IF YOU'RE POOR YOU SHOULD NOT BE HAVING KIDS AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY TAXES FOR IT! I KNOW A GIRL WHO SOLD CANDY FROM CLASS TO CLASS TO MAKE ENDS MEET! THOSE OF YOU WHO FEEL THEY "NEED" SCHIP WILL NEVER TASTE THE FRUITS OF THEIR OWN LABOR!!!
The above also means I want to eliminate welfare as much as possible and replace it with private charity. At least Ralph Nader has one place where we should follow his footsteps (we do need to be more Philanthropic and spearhead charities).
I disagree with completely on a very grand scale that the Kennedy assassination was a conspiracy. Same with 9/11. I also believe that the small step for man Neil Armstrong made was a GENUINE leap for mankind, not a hoax.
I believe teachers unions are enemies of progress. And getting $34.06 per hour is not what I would call "underpaid." Vouchers people. Merit pay. And I think it is a pinnacle of hypocrisy that our representatives in all levels of government who THINK public schools are doing fine seem so reluctant to send their kids to such institutions.
