I hope GM does better with this than the EV-1. They seem to be taking the right approach this time with advertising and marketing and all, and hopefully we can buy them instead of leasing, but I'm still wary. I'm thinking that including the gas engine was a good thing this time around, because it makes it more attractive to the consumer past the 40 mile range even if most people won't go past that. But that $40,000 price tag does nothing for the average consume in this economy. =/

I wouldn't dismis the volt just because i's not all electric.

it might not happen when the volt costs $40,000
it will definitly happen when the volt costs $19,000
so to say Gm need to compete with hybrids.

Why am I not allowed to watch the Opel Ampera video in that channel? I'm living here in europe, where the Volt will (hopefully) be sold as Opel Ampera. So I cannot understand, why you do not allow me to see that video.

Sorry Volt!!!! You get a huge FAIL right off the line!!!! Your Company is walking backwards. Almost 20 Years ago was the birth of the EV1.....all battery, NO GAS. You guys waisted billions to give it life then do almost double the work to kick the legs out of the support for a Green Car.

My question to you and your Oh so wonderful Company would be.....after all that waste and fuss in California, why are you asking the North American people for a bail out by way of Government Tax Dollars????
Why didn't you first knock on the doors of Shell, Exxon, Texaco?????? Companies that are still showing Profit in this downturn in the global market. Is it not in their best interest to keep your Company standing?

Have any of you heard of the EV1? It was an all electric car that GM made, then took back when the leases were out and crushed, even when their owners offered to buy the cars. If you want to help the future, don't buy from GM. Try GEM, for an all electric. GM will crush your dreams and your car.
