243 views 4 months ago
UST ARKI Design Cluster and UAP-Manila Atelier Chapter launched a competition on making an Eco-Parol. Ust Architecture in all levels from 1st yr to 4th yr shall have one representative in each section. From the 37 entries of each sections, "The Filipino Spirit" of the UST Arki ECO-Parol (4AR-5), which is designed by Gian Borlongan won the title as the UST-Arki Eco Parol of 2013

CONCEPT:
A parol is a symbol of hope. It is a victory of light over darkness. It is a composition of the Philippine Flag elemnts (Three stars and a sun, with the colors of blue, white and red). In this season of Christmas, this parol will be a symbol of A New Beginning. Despite all the Tragedies we encountered we UNITE AS ONE NATION and we can LIGHT UP THE PATH AHEAD OF US.

Eco Parol Materials
*The Sun
-Outer Circle is a Hula hoop, inserted with CDs, and sandwiched with Balloon Sticks and Kawayan sticks
*Three Stars
-Structurally made with Kawayan Sticks, covered with Burlat and outlined with Banig Strips, then crowned with Soda Can Dish
*Blue Over Red
